MEDIA ADVISORY

 

What: Maryland Higher Education Commission Meeting

Items to be discussed include:
Pursuant to the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 13B.02.03.25D, the Commission will hear the appeal of Secretary of Higher Education James E. Lyons, Sr.'s denial of approval of the University of Maryland University College program proposal to offer an area of concentration, in Community College Policy and Administration, within its Doctor of Management program in Maryland. The hearing will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of COMAR 13B.02.03.25D(2) – (5).

After the hearing, the Commission will adjourn to a closed session. 13B.02.03.25D(8)(a).
The Commission will issue its decision within 5 working days of the hearing. 13B.02.03.25D(8)(b).

Who: Secretary of Higher Education James E. Lyons, Sr., Commission Chairman Kevin O’Keefe, Commission members, MHEC staff.

When: 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2009
