Events are perfect way to educate students
about financial aid
Annapolis, MD (January 23, 2008)
Dates for College Goal Sunday have been announced for 2008.
College Goal Sunday is an extremely popular program which
invites college-bound students to a location near them to
receive advice on completing the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) , the form required by colleges,
universities and most private career schools to qualify for
scholarships, grants and loans.
If students are 23 years or younger, they should attend with a
parent or guardian. They should bring their parent and
guardians’ 1040 tax form, W-2 form or any other 2007 income and
benefits information. Students 24 or older should bring their
own completed IRS 1040 tax return, W-2 form or other 2007 income
or benefits information.
“I encourage all students who are going to or are thinking about
attending a college, university or private career school to
attend this very important program,” Higher Education Secretary
James E. Lyons, Sr., said. “While the college experience is a
great one, students are naturally apprehensive at first about
embarking on the road to a higher education. This event will
help ease their concerns.”
