Jack F. Tolbert Memorial Student Grant Program



Who may apply? 

Students attending or who plan to attend a private career school.

How to apply?

Complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1s for priority consideration or before June 1, 2024 for final consideration. Apply to the financial aid office of the private career school you will attend.

When to apply? 

This application has a rolling deadline.

Eligible Majors

All majors are eligible.

Eligibility Requirements

You and your parents (if you are a dependent student) must be Maryland residents.  You must enroll at an approved Maryland private career school.  You must enroll for at least 18 clock hours per week.

​Financial Need​

These awards are made on the basis of need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA.

Award Amount

The award amount of a Tolbert Grant may be up to $500. Funds may not be available to award all eligible students.

Renewing An Award

The award may be renewed one time.
