Health, Equity, and Social Justice Program Description
The new Area of concentration in Health, Equity and Social Justice is designed to prepare students to advance the public’s health through the integration and application of a broad range of knowledge, analytical skills and competencies that will enable graduates to effectively assume leadership roles in public health both domestically and internationally. The DrPH program is built around a set of common competencies that all students entering the program will be expected to achieve. In addition to these competencies students will achieve an additional seven competencies that relate to Health, Equity and Social Justice within the program. The program is designed primarily for part-time students. The degree will consist of online intensive graduate-level coursework, combined with summer and winter institutes, a practicum in an external agency and a culminating, applied doctoral dissertation. The degree can be completed over a minimum of 16 8- week terms.
