Music Program Description
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Music is designed for students seeking a liberal arts degress in music.&nbsp; The curriculum of this program is designed to assure that students received a solid grounding in the fundamentals of music theory and history, take individual instruction in applied music, and participate in music ensembles appropriate to there area of musical training.&nbsp; The existing program has been reduced by six credits in order to facilitate the student option of completing a minor, including music industry.&nbsp; Students will have more choice to tailor their degree to fit their personal education and future career objectives.&nbsp; The curriculum is being mainstreamed to include a specific course in technology that sutdents will need in the 21st century.&nbsp; Graduates of the program will be able to demonstrate technical mastery in performance, composition, or music technology; demonstrate appropriate cultural contexts with the required tasks in&nbsp; performance, composition or music technology; and demonstrate an advanced knowledge and understanding of music and developing research skills appropriate for examining and writing about music effectively. <br>
