Anesthesia Technology Program Description
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Anesthesia Technology prepares students to be important members of the anesthesia patient care team.  Anesthesia Technologists assist licensed anesthesia providers in the preparation and application of various types of equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia.  These professionals work in a variety of clinical settings, including operating rooms, interventional and diagnostic radiology, post anesthesia care units, ICUs, cardiac catheterization labs, and ERs.  Graduates of the program will be able to demonstrate professionalism and adherence to ethical and legal standards of the anesthesia technology profession; exhibit competency in the role of the anesthesia technologist in various healthcare settings; provide safe practice within the healthcare environment; and use critical thinking to prioritize, analyze and resolve issues in the anesthesia environment.
