Cybersecurity Program Description
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Cybersecurity is designed to prepare students for a career in cybersecurity, computer network security, or a related field. The program is intended to provide a well-rounded base of knowledge and skills including computer networking and netw.ork security, network analysis, systems hardening, penetration testing, forensics, scripting, and technical writing and documentation. The program incorporates a combination of classroom instruction, industry certification preparation and internship opportunities (through the assistance of the Cyber Technology Navigator position and the Career Development office) to provide an effective career preparation experience. Upon successful completion of the degree, students will also be prepared to sit for the CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) industry certification exams.
