Captain Lynn D. Gilroy

Captain Lynn D. Gilroy was first appointed to the Commission in 1999. He has been associated with the fire service for over 50 years. Mr. Gilroy is a Member and Treasurer of the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department, where he has served since 1992. Mr. Gilroy is a member of the Maryland State Firemen's Association and has been involved in that organization in a variety of capacities for more than thirteen years. He is the past president of the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association. Additionally, he is a MICRB-certified State Emergency Services Instructor, and is a Field Instructor for the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Mr. Gilroy retired from the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Fire Department at Reagan National Airport for whom he worked as a Captain and shift training officer. Mr. Gilroy recently served on the town council for La Plata, Maryland, as Councilman for Ward 3.​ Mr. Gilroy represents volunteer emergency services personnel.
