Leadership Studies  Program Description

University of Maryland College Park is proposing to offer a stand-alone Upper Division Certificate in Leadership Studies. Students will learn theories of leadership models that increase their sense of intrapersonal development and their understanding of working well in groups and organizations. The curriculum also engages students in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of a social action plan that addresses a social issue facing society, campus, or the surrounding community. Students who successfully complete the program will be prepared to serve effectively in informal and formal leadership roles in a variety of environments including campus, national and international positions.
