The Master of Science (M.S.) in School Counseling program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The program provides a foundation in school counseling theories, approaches, and best practices while getting hands-on experience in the classroom. Students learn the various issues affecting children, preteens and teens today and learn how to provide guidance and support to diverse student populations. The program requires 75 quarter credit hours and two six-day residencies.
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in K-12 Reading Endorsement program is designed to prepare students to be skilled reading and literacy instructors. It prepares the graduates to engage future students in active reading, critical thinking, and thoughtful writing. The program requires 19 semester credit hours.
The Master of Science (M.S.N.) in Nursing: Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program is designed to prepare students to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals 13 years or older with complex acute and chronic medical conditions. The program requires 56 quarter credit hours and 576 practicum hours.
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Education: Educational Leadership and Administration (Principal Preparation) program is designed for educators who want to become a principal or administrator at the masterís level. The program is designed to develop the management, leadership and advanced instructional skills necessary to be a successful educational leader. This newly proposed area of concentration provides the legal, financial, data and personnel management knowledge needed to meet the daily challenges of school administration as well as the instructional leadership skills required to improve student outcomes. The program requires 36 semester credit hours.
