University of Maryland University College (UMUC) is one of 11 degree-granting institutions of the University System of Maryland. It extends the resources of the University System to working adults who want to pursue higher education. The curriculum, scheduling of classes, registration procedures, and student services have all been designed to create a supportive academic environment for busy adults. Bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs are offered in a variety of disciplines, including business and management, IT and computer technology, and teaching-related areas. UMUC offers classes at centers throughout the State. Most of UMUC's programs are also offered fully online. UMUC has articulated, dual admission programs with ALL community colleges, thus permitting students who start their studies at a local college to complete their degree without the loss of credits.
