WAU is Montgomery County's only resident four-year liberal arts college and offers certificate programs; associate, baccalaureate, and masters degrees; including evening programs for adult learners. Majors offered by WAU's three schools - the School of Arts and Social Sciences, the School of Health Professions, Science and Wellness, and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies - include nursing, business, psychology, education, music, history, political studies, biology, respiratory care, and others. Pre-professional specializations offered include Pre-Law, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Pharmacy, Pre-Physical Therapy, and Pre-X-Ray Technology. WAU's 13:1 student/teacher ratio promotes individualized instruction. Through the cooperative education program, students are placed in internships related to their majors.
