Accounting  Program Description

University of Maryland College Park is proposing to offer a new Master of Science in Accounting. The curriculum will offer preparation for CPA certification in most states depending on CPA examination and licensure requirements. Graduates from the program will gain knowledge and skills needed for their firms. Students will focus on internal audit application and practice, current trends in corporate governance, the role of managerial accounting in overall management planning and control structure, fraud prevention, deterrence and control, and IT security, IT controls and IT auditing.
