Joann A. Boughman

Joann A. Boughman is the Executive Vice President of the American Society of Human Genetics.

Prior to becoming the Executive Vice President of the American Society of Human Genetics in 2001, Dr. Boughman was Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

She is an adjunct professor of pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine; consultant to the Greater Baltimore Alliance; and advisor to the Maryland Science Center.

She received her B. S. in Medical Technology and her Ph.D. in Medical Genetics at Indiana University.

Dr. Boughman lives in Potomac. She was reappointed to the Commission in July 2006. Her term on the Commission expires in 2011.
