Goal 1 Writing Group - Quality and Effectiveness

Charge: The Writing Group shall review the 2004 Maryland State Plan for Postsecondary Education, The Higher Education Transition Work Group Report, and other appropriate reports and information to develop comprehensive strategies to address issues of access and affordability in Maryland’s Postsecondary Education system. Since one of our guiding principles is that the goals will remain essentially the same as those in the 2004 State Plan, members should review these documents identifying issue areas that are not currently in the plan and updates to those that are encompassed. Following a thorough review, analysis and discussion of the new areas and updates, the workgroup will recommend appropriate changes to Goal 1 and begin writing the topic areas that will comprise this goal. The Writing Group will also recommend strategies or action recommendations to achieve this goal. Lastly, the Writing Group will discuss performance measures for Goal 1 to measure Maryland’s continued progress in meeting its access and affordability goal.
