SHARON CHRISTA MCAULIFFE MEMORIAL
TEACHER EDUCATION AWARD

The Sharon Christa McAuliffe Memorial Teacher Education Award Program has been consolidated into the Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant Program.  No new or renewal awards are being made under the SCM program name.

SERVICE OBLIGATION

If you received an award under the SCM program name, you have agreed to work as a full-time classroom teacher in a Maryland public school in the critical shortage area you have chosen, one year for each year of the award, or repay the scholarship with interest. You must begin the service obligation within twelve (12) months of graduation. If you held this scholarship with any other award requiring a service obligation, you must perform your service in consecutive years.

All new awards made in this major or occupational fields will now be made under the Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant Program.  Please visit our website for information on the WSSAG program and for program application information.
