Information Regarding the Application for Approval to Open a New Real Estate Private Career School

Approval by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) is required before an in-state training entity may offer to the general public the 60 clock-hour Principles and Practices of Real Estate for Salespersons pre-licensing course.  This is a regulatory requirement of the Maryland Real Estate Commission (MREC).

Also, a business must first be approved by MHEC to offer the pre-licensing course as a private career school program before it may apply to MREC to offer real estate continuing education courses.

The following application and materials are to be used by a business applying to MHEC to operate in Maryland as a private real estate career school, offering the 60 clock-hour Principles and Practices of Real Estate for Salespersons pre-licensing course.

These materials are for residential and distance education (online) delivery formats.
