CLOSURE:  The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) was notified on March 5, 2009, that CSB School of  Broadcasting located at Suite 102, 9891 Broken Land Parkway in Columbia, Maryland, discontinued all instruction after March 4, 2009.

June 8, 2009: The processing of refunds is now occurring.  Please note that you must file a claim with MHEC before Commission staff will be able to process any refund that may be due you.   To initiate the process, complete and return the survey form contained in one of the letters below (under UPDATES).  Choose the letter that is appropriate to your student status when the school closed.  Once this initial survey is received by MHEC, you will be contacted by Commission staff and informed of the next steps.

• If you received a student loan from a third party lender, contact them IMMEDIATELY (contact information should be on your loan documents) to inform them of the school’s closure and that you wish to request a “non-interest bearing administrative forbearance” of your loan until such time as your claim with the school is settled.  This means that you are requesting that the loan company suspend accrual of any interest and any loan payments until your claim has been settled.  Please note that you may have to periodically renew this request until your claim is settled.  If the lender wants proof of the school’s closure, provide them with a print-out of this webpage or refer them to this URL, and give them the above MHEC name and contact information.
